Francis Ngannou folds the case in less than a round for his big return to the octagon

Almost three years after his last fight in the cage, Francis Ngannou made his return to MMA with a victory in the first round against Renan Ferreira, at the PFL in Riyadh. Three minutes were enough for a knockout when the referee stopped.

“I didn’t really leave MMA, I focused on other things,” he declared in RMC Fighter Club last September. Two and a half years since he last fought in the cage but Francis Ngannou reminded everyone of the champion he was by winning this Saturday, October 19 against Renan Ferreira at the PFL. A victory sealed in the first round, before the referee stopped it.

The “Predator” announced that he had worked a lot on his wrestling for his return to MMA, after a very notable fight in English boxing against Tyson Fury in October 2023. And it showed. Since after a minute of standing observation against his Brazilian opponent, with a few test shots, it was on the ground that Francis Ngannou did the work.

Ngannou’s strong emotion

The Cameroonian, flag on his shoulders, was very moved after his victory, in a fight that he dedicated to his son Kobewho died at the age of 15 months and whose death he announced last April on social networks. He couldn’t hold back his tears when the fight stopped.
