Biathlon: Chloé Chevalier’s big performance
This weekend, the Arçon Summer Biathlon Tour (Doubs) represents the last opportunity for French biathletes to adjust and perform before the snow returns. Under the sun and in front of a large audience, this is what the Dauphinoise Chloé Chevalier managed to achieve.
Author of a difficult winter 2023/2024 after contracting mononucleosis, the tricolor was then relegated to France B team in spring. Remobilized and after a studious summer, the Villardienne seems to have rediscovered her taste for biathlon. This Saturday noon, she actually signed a big race during the women’s sprint in Arçon by winning the victory, synonymous with the senior national title in the specialty.
With a magnificent 10/10 on the carpets, Chloé Chevalier managed to resist Lou Jeanmonnot (10/10) on the wheel skis in the last lap. Having a lead of 13 seconds 0 at the start of this final double, she wins by… 8 tenths of a second. Julia Simon (8/10), because of his two standing errors, took the bronze at 33 sec 0. For the anecdote, she had fallen on roller skis during the warm-up.
Amandine Mengin best U22, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet out of the top 10
Gilonne Guigonnat (9/10), for less than a second, is fourth just ahead Jeanne Richard (9/10). The Vosges Amandine Mengin (9/10) finished sixth and wins the U22 race in front Lena Moretti (9/10), U19 winner, Lou-Anne Dupont Ballet-Baz (9/10) et Voldiya Galmace-Paulin (7/10).
The top 10 in scratch is completed by Océane Michelon (8/10), who does not make the three pass after his double of Prémanon (Jura) from last month, Sophie Chauveau (9/10), the Belgian Eve Bouvard (9/10) et Fany Bertrand (10/10).
Further, we find Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (7/10), eleventh at 1 min 13, Camille Bened (8/10), twelfth, Lisa Siberchicot (9/10), fourteenth, Paula Botet (7/10), sixteenth, Caroline Colombo (8/10), twentieth, or even Léonie Jeannier (7/10), twenty-second.
