CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, THE EAGLES OF LA MEDINA IN GROUP A

Dakar, Oct 18 (APS) – The Senegalese team of the Aigles de la Médina is housed in Pool A of the 2024 African Champions League with the club of the host country, Morocco, the Sports Association of the Royal Armed Forces, the Tout Puissant Mazembe (DRC) and the University of Western Cape (South Africa), learned of the APS, following the draw carried out on Friday in Salé.

This fourth edition, scheduled from November 9 to 23, will pit eight clubs against each other.

Six zonal tournaments were organized to qualify six teams, in addition to the host and the defending champion.

The qualified teams are: AS FAR (host and winner in 2022), Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa (title holder), Aigles de la Médina (Senegal – Union of West African Federations Zone A (UFOA- A), Edo Queens (Nigeria – UFOA B), TP Mazembe (DR Congo – Union of Central African Football Federations), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia club (Ethiopia – Council of African Football Associations Eastern and Central), University of Western Cape (South Africa – Council of Southern African Football Associations) and Tutankhamun (Egypt – North African Football Union).

They will be divided into two groups of four teams.

The Shereef Kingdom will host this tournament, the most important women’s club football competition in Africa, for the second time, after the 2022 edition.
