Kick-off of the 14th edition of the international festival “Samaa Rabat”

Rabat – The 14th edition of the “Samaa Rabat” International Festival, organized by the Al Assala association for the art of Madih and Tarab Al Ala, kicked off Thursday evening at the Mohammed V Theater in Rabat, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

This artistic event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, under the banner “Our heritage, mirror of our civilization”, is enhanced by the participation of the “Inchad and Madih” troupes (Malaysia) and “Al Najah” of spiritual music (Tunisia), as guests of honor, in addition to several Moroccan troupes from Tarab Al Ala, Melhoun and Gharnati.

The opening evening, which took place in the presence of a host of cultural personalities and was attended by a large audience, paid tribute to the dean of Tarab Al Ala, El Hajj Mohamed Zaki. It was also marked by the musical performances of the Al Asalaa Lilamdah Annabaouia troupe, the Machriq Al Anouar choir and the Al Hamd troupe of Issaoui heritage from Rabat.

Speaking on this occasion, the president of the Al Assala association, Mouhcin Nourch, declared that the organization of this festival aims to promote Moroccan identity by celebrating one of its most important cultural, artistic and spiritual components. , adding that “this event is part of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote and support Moroccan cultural heritage, in the wake of the overall developmental momentum experienced by the Kingdom.”

“The festival reflects the Kingdom’s desire to develop the religious and cultural fields and to support the values ​​and constants of the country, which are based on unity, the middle ground and tolerance,” he underlined.

Likewise, Mr. Nourch noted that heritage, as a cultural and spiritual component which interacts with society and embodies the aesthetic expressions of different human values, is an integral part of this solid Moroccan identity that we aspire to honor through the activities of this festival”.

The “Samaa Rabat” International Festival, which is being held until October 19 at the Mohammed V Theater and the Allal El Fassi Hall, is a renewed opportunity to promote religious genres of Moroccan music, such as Madih, Samaa, Tarab Al Ala, Melhoun and Dhikr Issaoui.

The Al Assala association for the art of Madih and Tarab Al Ala, which has participated in numerous national and international events and festivals, works to preserve the traditional Moroccan musical heritage, with a particular emphasis on the arts of Madih and Tarab Al Ala.
