Rabiot is already threatening a Parisian in the French team

In recent months, Warren Zaire-Emery has been chomping at the bit in the French team. After Euro 2024 spent on the bench, the PSG midfielder played very little time in the Nations League. His place in blue is clearly in danger in the coming weeks.

The rise to the top was very rapid for Warren Zaire-Emery, but the reverse path was almost as rapid. Revelation of PSG and Ligue 1 in 2023, the Parisian titi was called up for the first time in the French team during the November 2023 rally. He scored his first goal against Gibraltar for his first selection. However, since then, Zaire-Emery has marked time at PSG with less successful performances. In the French team, he was able to earn his place for Euro 2024 but not the confidence of Didier Deschamps on the German lawns. Zaire-Emery did not play a single minute during the Blues’ long run. His inexperience in major competitions had been mentioned. However, this no longer holds.

Zaire-Emery replaced by Rabiot in blue?

In the Nations League, the PSG midfielder doesn’t play much more: a little more than 13 minutes against Italy at the Parc in September, a handful of seconds against Israel in October. In this last rally, Warren Zaire-Emery was the midfielder least used by Didier Deschamps. In an article, L’Equipe is pessimistic regarding the future of Zaire-Emery with the Blues in the short term. The staff does not yet consider him as a serious option, believing that the Parisian “ is only 18 years old and has his whole life ahead of him to learn », According to the sports daily.

Above all, serious competitors from Zaire-Emery are expected to soon return to the selection. This is particularly the case of Adrien Rabiot, Didier Deschamps’ strong man since 2020. Not called up since he did not find a club in September then due to lack of rhythm in October, the neo-Marseillais should be in a position to strength for the next gathering in November. His return will eliminate an element in the midfield. Zaire-Emery is clearly threatened, especially after the good performances of Manu Koné and Mattéo Guendouzi.

But an absence would not necessarily be negative for Zaire-Emery who was called upon too often last season. In addition, another French team would welcome him with open arms. These are the Espoirs who are preparing a Euro in 2025 on the side of Slovakia.
