Vettel and Schumacher teammates during the Race of Champions

Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher have already had the opportunity to team up in previous editions of the Race of Champions, in 2019, 2022 and 2023. They notably finished second in the Nations Cup in Mexico in 2019, while that the Alpine World Endurance Championship driver finished second in the Race of Champions in Sweden in 2023.

Vettel already won the Race of Champions at the Olympic Stadium in London in 2015 and won the Nations Cup six years in a row (from 2007 to 2012) alongside Michael Schumacher.

« I’m excited to return to the Race Of Champions and team up with Mick again, rejoices the four-time Formula 1 champion with Red Bull. It will be exciting to race at the old Sydney Olympic Stadium, which seems to be an ideal venue for the Race Of Champions. Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I think Fredrik (Johnsson) and his team have chosen an incredible location for the next chapter of the ROC. I also support the ROC’s efforts to become a sustainable motorsport event, which started at ROC Sweden.

All drivers who have the honor of participating in the ROC fall in love with the event, because it reminds us why we started racing; pure competition and of course with the same cars, there is no excuse. I’ll do everything I can to help Germany win another ROC Nations Cup title with Mick on Friday night, but I won’t be doing him any favors when we go for outright victory on Saturday night, especially since he beat me in the individual ROC semi-final in Sweden in 2023!

At the ROC, the races are always intense on the track and everyone wants to win, but it’s also about putting on a great show for the fans. »

« Australia is one of my favorite places and representing Germany with Sebastian at ROC Sydney will definitely be a lot of fun, adds Mick Schumacher. After finishing 2nd in the individual ROC in Sweden in 2023 and the ROC Nations Cup at ROC Mexico with Seb, the goal this time around must be the overall winner’s trophy in both the ROC Nations Cup on Friday night and in the Individual Race Of Champions on Saturday.

I’m really looking forward to meeting all the other drivers and spending time with them during the Race Of Champions weekend in Sydney. I’m sure the drivers will have a great time together and put on a great show for the Australian fans. »

The Race of Champions 2025 will take place at the Accord Stadium in Sydney (Australia) from March 7 to 8.
