Club: Kolo Muani: “I hope the coach will also trust me at PSG”

Author of a double against Belgium on Monday evening, Randal Kolo Muani confirmed his formidable effectiveness in the French team and now hopes to reproduce this under the colors of PSG.

Starting Monday evening in Brussels, like four days earlier in Budapest, Randal Kolo Muani scored both goals for the team against Belgium, allowing the Blues to win 2-1. After a converted penalty obtained by Bradley Barcola and perfectly transformed, Kolo Muani scored with a nice uncrossed header the goal for 2-1, after a good cross from the former Parisian Lucas Digne.

Top scorer for the France team in 2026 with six goals, Kolo Muani has scored seven times in his last eight starts with the Blues. A record which contrasts with that at PSG, where he is only a substitute and rarely to his advantage when Luis Enrique gives him a chance. How can we explain this contrast between his performances at club and national level?

Kolo Muani hopes to “change the game” at PSG

“It’s a bit of the confidence of the coach (Deschamps), my teammates also support me enormously in this difficult phase, replied Kolo Muani on TF1 on Monday evening. Afterwards it’s work on myself too. I have to continue to keep my head on my shoulders, to work, to not give up and I think that the coach helps me a lot with that, he talks to me a lot about that. It’s just up to me to keep working and making a difference. »

In full confidence with the Blues, does Kolo Muani feel capable of showing the same face at PSG, where Luis Enrique asks him diametrically opposed things compared to Didier Deschamps? “I would like to do the same on the pitch, on both sides (club and selection). It’s up to me to continue to work, to perform, to stay in my bubble, to stay focused. It’s just work, I think I could do it, I could replicate it. »

And when asked if it was a problem of trust at PSG, the former player replied: “It’s different. The coach uses me differently. It doesn’t bother me, I have to stay focused on myself. The coach trusts me here (in the selection), I hope he will also trust me at the club. I always keep my head straight, I will continue to work and stay straight in my boots. »

Asked about his center forward after Belgium/France (1-2), Didier Deschamps was delighted: “I’m happy for him, he does well with what he does on the pitch. He performs very well with us, he is full of confidence. The first match had done him good too. He has the ability to go deep, he was even quite good with his back to goal. And then he has a very good heading game. He scores two goals, good for him and the French team. But it’s not from today. When he is on the pitch, even 20 minutes, something always happens”he confided to the microphone of the L’Equipe channel.
