amendments propose to compensate for the drop in appropriations for the National Sports Agency

Several amendments aimed at compensating for the drop in appropriations for the National Sports Agency (ANS), provided for in the finance bill for 2025, were tabled by the deputies, while the finance committee is due to begin on Wednesday October 16 , examination of the recipes part of the text.

The socialist and related deputies, as well as the Ensemble pour la République deputy Benjamin Dirx, propose in particular to increase by 6 million euros the amount levied on the tax on sports betting which is directed towards the ANS, to bring it to 106 .4 million euros. It is about“ensure financing” of the ANS through the assigned taxes “ at least equivalent » to what it is in 2024, argue the elected socialists and Mr. Dirx.

The latter, in three other amendments, goes further by proposing to increase the levy on online sports betting from 100.4 million to 146.4 million euros or to 206.4 million, or even 216.4 million.

This would thus involve compensating not only the planned reduction in the amount of taxes allocated to the ANS, but also, in part, the reduction of 100 million euros in credits allocated to the 5,000 Generation 2024 sports equipment plan, and the reduction of 10 million euros in credits intended for the Pass’Sport system.

Other amendments, tabled by the socialist elected representatives, commit, to the choice, to increase from 100.4 million to 187.7 million euros the part levied on the tax on sports betting allocated to the ANS, or to pay the entire proceeds of this tax (289.8 million euros) to the Agency.
