Three weeks after being fired from Anderlecht, Brian Riemer could land a prestigious job

LDenmark is looking for a new national coach after the departure of Kasper Hjulmand at the end of a disappointing Euro, which the Danes left in the round of 16 after a defeat against Germany. Lars Knudsen is currently acting, but he could soon give way to… Brian Riemer, fired at Anderlecht barely three weeks ago and replaced by David Hubert!

Riemer enjoys a good rating in Denmark for what he accomplished at the head of the Mauves. Danish internationals Dolberg, Delaney and Dreyer, as well as Swedish international Augustinsson, have already praised him in the media.

The fact that Jesper Fredberg, CEO Sports of Anderlecht, is part of the working group responsible for finding a new national coach also works in Riemer’s favor. It was in fact Fredberg who brought his compatriot to Brussels in December 2022, replacing Felice Mazzù.

According to local media, “in-depth discussions” have already taken place between Riemer and Peter Moller, the technical director of the Danish federation.

Thomas Frank and Brian Priske, the Danish coaches of Brentford and Feyenoord respectively, have reportedly refused the coaching position.
