The Prefect ready to spoil the party for ASSE

From the start of the international break, the groups of supporters of AS Saint-Étienne as well as the Racing Club de Lens sent a letter to the Loire Prefecture with the aim of encouraging the Prefect not to limit travel blood and gold supporters but to simply frame it in a classic way. The objective was to allow Geoffroy-Guichard to see his full field with 2000 opposing supporters.

While the rest of the stadium will be full, all that remained was to know the decision of the prefecture to know if the party would be total. According to information from our partner France Bleu Saint-Étienne Loire, a decree will be published in the coming hours. It will limit the movement of Lensois supporters to a maximum of 1,200.

Jean-Guy Rioupresident of the Stéphanois Supporters Union, regrets this difficult to understand decision: “The Lensois and Saint-Etienne supporters have the same fervor, are recognized for this passion, without the slightest antagonism between us, with groups who get along well. With this appeal, we hoped for a little more. With other clubs, we We would have included supervision measures, but not with Lens. A gauge of at least 1,500 seemed more appropriate to us. From the moment the ultra groups of the two clubs signed a letter together and gave their word, it was obvious that it was necessary. there would have been no excesses on the sidelines of the meeting, it’s frankly a shame.”
