. An on-air slip-up leads to the suspension of two channel consultants by Canal+

Fabrice Tarnaud and Patrice Barquez, consultants on +, did not comment this Sunday, October 14, on the last day of the French Golf Open broadcast on Canal+. The two protagonists were in fact suspended following a discussion and disrespectful remarks towards the mother of the French number 1.

Last Thursday, October 10, the duo made an inappropriate comment about Béatrice Pavon-Deler, Matthieu Pavon’s mother. After being interviewed on the edge of the Saint-Quentin en national golf course, the golf teacher was mentioned by the two consultants.

The sports director of Canal + apologized

The sequence broadcast live on Golf + and, for the moment, still available on the channel’s replay, is more than likely to cause controversy. The two consultants particularly mention the moment when “Matthew was conceived”.

The minute-long exchange did not take long to reach the ears of the person concerned, Béatrice Pavon-Deler. The latter also warned her son, who then decided to boycott the interviews planned with the encrypted channel, as reported Le Figaro. Approach in which he was supported in a spirit of solidarity by certain compatriots (Victor Perez, Ugo Coussaud, Adrien Saddier, etc.).

The exchange led to the reaction of Canal+ management, who learned of it that same day around 7 p.m. Thomas Sénécal, the sports director, then quickly suspended Fabrice Tarnaud and Patrice Barquez from the air for the next day.

The sports boss also apologized to the Pavon family by telephone. From now on, he must discuss these remarks in detail with his consultants, service providers.
