Christian Eriksen destroyed in England: a way out in January… and a Fredberg on the lookout? – All football

Roy Keane has strongly criticized Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s choice to bring in Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen. According to the former midfielder and club legend, these players are part of the problem within the English club.

“If you keep going back to Maguire and Eriksen, you have a problem,” Keane said on the podcast Stick to Football. These words not only highlight the question mark regarding Christian Eriksen at United, but can also create new opportunities for other clubs, such as Anderlecht.

Anderlecht already showed interest in Christian Eriksen last summer, but the Danish midfielder opted to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place. Now that Eriksen, like Maguire, is back as a starter, Keane expresses his concerns about the club’s future.

“Manchester United have gone through changes in recent years,” says Keane. “They got rid of Fred and Scott McTominay, but now Maguire and Eriksen are back in the starting team.”

With the criticism continuing and the fact that Eriksen may no longer fit Manchester United’s plans, Anderlecht could consider another attempt. The Brussels club have already shown an interest in the Dane, and a departure from Manchester United during the winter transfer window could open up prospects for a transfer.

Keane emphasizes that his criticism is not personal against Eriksen, but rather aimed at the wider issues within Manchester United. “I’m not saying they are the problem per se, of course not, but if you think Maguire is the answer… Then you have a bigger problem.”

However, Jesper Fredberg himself is under great pressure at RSC Anderlecht: he will no longer have free rein, as long as he stays until the next transfer window. To persist in the Eriksen track would be quite frowned upon. But we are right to wonder if his attempt to bring Ryan Mason, Eriksen’s friend, to the helm, was not also with an idea in mind…
