Anthony Vanden Borre is back… where you don’t expect him: “I don’t think I’m going to win, but…” – All football

Anthony Vanden Borre has kept a low profile since his retirement, but Sport van Hier has tracked him down. The former Red Devil took part in a quiz on the history of football!

Anthony Vanden Borre is a man full of surprises. But were we expecting… a football quiz? “I come first to have fun, but I really like to remember the history of football, Belgian, European, world. It interests me a lot,” declared the ex-Diable Rouge at the microphone of Sports from Here.

“I don’t think I’m going to win, I know the competition and it’s strong, but I’ll always try,” laughed Vanden Borre, who hasn’t given up on football yet.

“I still play, of course. But at an amateur level, with friends. To have fun,” assures the former Anderlecht player, who also still follows his former club. “I will always remain an Anderlecht supporter. I still know a few players there like Leoni, with whom I played. And then there is Jan Vertonghen, who is from my generation.”

“They are coming out of a difficult period, but it takes time to get back to the level. I think there has been good work over the last two years,” concludes the former idol of the fans at Lotto Park.

And regarding the Red Devils, he who was to be the official right-back of the golden generation? “There’s a lot of quality, but you need someone to manage it all properly. It’s a new generation, they need time.”
