Spain and Barça tremble for Yamal, injured against Denmark

Replaced at the end of the match against Denmark (1-0) in the Nations League on Saturday in Murcia, Roja winger Lamine Yamal left the stadium limping. Enough to worry the European champions before challenging Serbia on Tuesday and their club, FC Barcelona.

Alert for Lamine Yamal. The Spanish striker was not spared by the Danes on Saturday evening in the Nations League. If Spain won 1-0 in Murcia (goal from Zubimendi), the star of FC Barcelona received several blows during the meeting. Left back Victor Kristiansen, his main opponent on the field, did not spare him. He even ended up receiving a yellow card in the 85th minute. “It was just to say that I too am in the fight, that I am not afraid of you,” he explained to the Danish site Ekstra Bladet.

Spared Tuesday against Serbia?

But this aggressiveness did not remain without consequences for the young European champion. Five minutes after the Leicester player was booked, Lamine Yamal had to be replaced (90th). The 17-year-old was then treated by La Roja medical staff before leaving the stadium limping. Not reassuring especially as Spain challenges Serbia on Tuesday as Barça hosts Sevilla in a week before a huge shock against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

According to Sport, Yamal’s injury does not, however, cause too much concern among his Spanish medical staff. The player will nevertheless have to undergo medical examinations this Sunday to find out more about the seriousness of his physical problems. Lamine Yamal could be spared against the Serbs, or be a substitute. La Roja leads its group with one point ahead of Denmark and three points ahead of Serbia.
