Van der Elst advises Tedesco ahead of clash

Franky Van der Elst talks about how he would start the Nations League match against as national coach of the Red Devils.

According to the analyst, it is no longer a question of “having fun with a five-man defense”. Van der Elst gives his views and advice to Tedesco.

No defense at 5

“Don’t start messing around with a five-man defense, settle for four defenders and a 4-3-3. And if Doku plays, you place him on the outside left, or at least as high as possible,” explains Van der Elst via Het Nieuwsblad.

“In March (at the start of World Cup qualifying, editor’s note), Lukaku and De Bruyne will return. In fact, we should be able to say by then: you join the team and everyone else can continue doing the same thing,” concludes Van der Elst.

Revenge for the Devils

The Red Devils will face France next Monday in the Nations League. Tedesco’s men have something to apologize for against the French. They lost 2-0 in the first match.
