A breath of fresh air this Saturday in Créteil during the match between Racing 92 and RC . manager Pierre Mignoni decided, after the stormy defeat at Clermont, to take a step back and follow his players’ matches from the stands until further notice. And it is Sandrine Agricole, the former fly half of the Blues and now physiotherapist at the RCT, who inherited this role at Créteil.

A woman as head coach on the sidelines, a first in the Top 14. And perhaps even in the world. Why her rather than another member of the Toulon staff? Because Sandrine Agricole is the only one to have her second degree state coaching certificate, necessary to sit on the bench for Top 14 matches.

82 selections with the French women’s XV

Sandrine Agricole, 44, wore the French women’s XV jersey 82 times, achieving the Grand Slam in the Six Nations Tournament in 2004, 2005 and 2014. She also coached the backs of Stade Rennais (women) before to join the RCT staff in 2020 as a physiotherapist. Before being promoted to head manager of the Var club’s medical center.

In 2023, she put on her crampons again for the Club Toulon Provence Méditerranée, which plays in Women’s Elite 2, before hanging up last June.
