Handball. Already coach of Ivry, Didier Dinart appointed coach of Montenegro

After coaching the French team from 2016 to 2020 then Saudi Arabia between 2021 and 2022, Didier Dinart is preparing to discover a third national selection. The former captain of the Blues has been named head of the Montenegro team.

Objective 2026

Today coach of the US Ivry club, in the French first division, Didier Dinart will combine these two functions with two important objectives: to maintain the Ile-de- club in the Starligue, and to qualify the Balkan selection for the 2026 European championship which will be held in three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

For his debut as coach of Montenegro, Dinart and his players will face Finland on November 6, then Slovakia on November 10.

An extraordinary track record

With the French team, Didier Dinart experienced many golden adventures. The Guadeloupean notably won two Olympic titles (2008, 2012), three world titles (2001, 2009, 2011) and two European championships (2006, 2010), making him one of the French players with the best track record, and even one of the most successful in the world.

Despite a complicated end to his adventure at the head of the Blues, Dinart also achieved some success as a coach, including a gold medal at the 2017 World Cup in France. With Saudi Arabia, he won bronze at the 2022 Asian Championship.
