Pro D2 – Dylan Jaminet (): “Tonight, we saw a sick team”

Fifteenth before facing Béziers, the Neversois had to avoid another defeat at home to avoid sinking. Mission accomplished, with a painful victory (28-23). For fullback Dylan Jaminet, author of the first attempt at a personal feat, this success owes everything to the strength of character of his team. A start of renewal on which we must now build.

After two defeats at home, you absolutely had to win tonight. So what are your feelings after this victory?

She does good, for the team, for everyone. We breathe a big sigh of relief: tonight, it’s finally a win, cohesion, desire. We held off against Béziers, a very big team. This is a way of marking the start of this second block. To say: we don’t win in , we don’t try to win in Nevers.

How was this victory achieved?

It is the victory of a group. We were present, eager, we were there for each other. (Silence) We shouldn’t be in this place. At the start of the season, we missed each other, now we have to move forward.

You had a complicated start to the match, with Béziers leading 10-0 after a quarter of an hour. Two weeks after the defeat at Pré-Fleuri against , this situation could have made you doubt. And yet you were able to pull yourself together and get back on track. How do you explain it?

If we start to lose because we are down 10-0 after a quarter of an hour, there is no point in playing an 80-minute match. We said to ourselves: it doesn’t matter, we’ll move forward. We lacked discipline at the start of the match (five penalties in 15 minutes, Editor’s note), but we built up, little by little.

There was still a lot of waste, mistakes, and mistakes.

We made lots of mistakes, everyone, but the team responded. This is the strong message that we showed this evening, the one that we are sending: we are a tough team. The last four minutes that we spend near our line, where we don’t give up, they feel good.

Brive emerges victorious from this sixth day of Pro D2, thanks to its prestigious victory against the BO. A success punctuated by a magnificent gesture from winger Erwan Dridi. At the bottom of the table, the Niçois offer themselves a first victory on home soil.https://t.co/4JuzLEuHKV

Xavier Péméja said just before you that you all had a great evening at the stadium last Friday, all together, the staff, the players, the women. Did you need a moment like this, after that first difficult block?

Yes, it made the group closer to be together like this, as a family. To see that everyone was in the same energy. It did us good. We said to ourselves that we should do this more often: it puts you in a good mood, it’s only positive.

You will now have to confirm after this match, and look for points away to make up for those who were lost at Pré-Fleuri. Is this a seminal match for you?

What matters now is what we are going to show in terms of character. It would bother me if we had another face in a week in Mont-de-Marsan.

There are a lot of young people in this team; you are part of it. In such a complicated start to the season, what can be your role?

We need to create automation. We struggled on the first block. It’s true that we have a young team, that the recruitment is young. But this evening, I don’t know if you saw young or old players on the pitch, for me, we saw a sick team. It is this desire, this character, which will make us win.
