Euroleague. Beaten in Milan, will still have to wait to achieve its first historic success

Basketball recorded another defeat in the Euroleague this Friday, October 11, beaten in the last minutes on the Milan floor (79-74) for the second day, again perhaps with some regrets.

The Parisians still looking for a first success in the Euroleague

Failed again! Barely a week after missing their debut in the most beautiful of European competitions in front of Red Star Belgrade (80-77), the Parisians, looking for a first historic success in the Euroleague, missed the mark again in Italy.

Like last Friday in their lair at the Arena Porte de la Chapelle, the men of Brazilian Tiago Splitter managed to take the lead in the match, going so far as to lead by eight points with just over five minutes to go. But like a week ago – when they had a lead of up to 13 points in the third quarter – they then cracked, punished by the Milanese who had lost for their entry into contention against another representative French, Monaco.

While Leon Kratzer had given the Parisians their good lead, the success of Shavon Shields, who finished top scorer with 21 points (6 rebounds, 5 assists) gave the locals hope. With two free throws, Giampaolo Ricci set the record straight (73-73) before Shields and Zach LeDay definitively relieved theirs.

Absent during the last championship match against at home, Parisian leader TJ Shorts finished with 17 points (8 assists, 4 rebounds).

For its very first participation in the Euroleague, barely six years after the creation of the club, Paris still had to realize the step it still had to climb to register in the long term at the top of the European basket.
