The yo-yo with poor Raphaël Lavoie, subject to waiver for a 3rd time in 5 days

We’re playing yo-yo with poor Raphaël Lavoie, who was placed on waivers for the third time in five days on Thursday afternoon.

The Edmonton Oilers decided to offer him again to the 31 other teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) after claiming him from the Vegas Golden Knights the day before.

The Alberta team had entered its name on waivers for the first time on October 6, the day before the deadline for sending teams to the NHL. The Golden Knights then claimed him to submit him on waivers.

The Oilers then repatriated him hoping to be able to send him directly to their American League affiliate, something that would have been possible without resorting to waivers if no other team had tried to claim him. However, a team behind the Oilers in the order of priority submitted a protest.

Under a specific regulation in the collective agreement, the fact that another club came forward forces the Oilers to further submit Lavoie to waivers to demote him to the American League.
