Boating in the Arcachon basin was in force at the Grand Pavois in

The Grand Pavois 2024 will go down as a good vintage. At least for the visibility of companies in the nautical sector in the Arcachon basin at this show. It ended on Sunday October 6 in the evening. Even if the economic context is rather gloomy, dozens of local entrepreneurs made the trip there like every year, as well as representatives of the port of Arcachon whose show takes place in April.

This year, one of these companies received a prize in La Rochelle as part of the Innovation Nacteurs in Nouvelle-Aquitaine Trophies, organized by “Sud Ouest” and its partners: the Cap-Ferret shipyard. It was presented to him by Coban (North Bassin Urban Community), an intercommunity represented on site by the president of the mayors’ office Nathalie Le Yondre and the vice-president in charge of the economy Manuel Martinez.

“Know-how”

The Cap-Ferret shipyard is particularly known as the manufacturer of the Seaweed range, versatile rigid boats very suitable for the Basin. But he made his name with a 12-meter bio-sourced prototype boat, which was used to transport the Olympic flame to the opening of the Olympics. A flame held on the Cap-Ferret boat by Rafael Nadal, surrounded among others by Carl Lewis and Serena Williams… It’s difficult to find a better showcase for this innovation centered on sustainable development.

The other spotlight for companies in the Arcachon basin is due to the economic development agency BA2E, which has been supporting companies in the nautical sector in Grand Pavois for four years. “The objective is to highlight these players in our territory by demonstrating both the diversity and complementarity of their know-how, on a vast stand in the colors of the territory and BA2E and places afloat. We are fortunate to have all the trades at our disposal: construction sites, engineering, sailmaking, equipment…” summarizes Sabine Brandes, director of BA2E. This year, several nautical flagships traveled in the Agency’s suitcases.

Boats, buoys and wetsuits

For example, we know Beacher and its units so suitable for leisure boating. We can also talk about the very beautiful boats from the Debord Naval shipyard (Gujan-Mestras) with elegant traditional lines, typical of the Arcachon basin, but which use materials based on natural fibers, modern manufacturing techniques and propulsion systems. hybrid or 100% electric. ETM marine presents a new connected mooring buoy to optimize moorings. Topstar (Marcheprime), specialist in “made in ” diving suits, has also innovated with a completely waterproof sailing suit. Atuas Cores (Mios) creates tailor-made preshapes for boards (surfing, paddle, etc.) sold online with 100% French materials and recycling of scraps. SB Yacht Design, based in La Teste, is a team of engineers, designers and architects who focus research and development towards boats with low environmental impacts. Finally, Starvoiles (La Teste-de-Buch) manufactures and designs high quality sails.
