LHJMQ summary from October 9: Adam Cavallin and Ethan Gauthier pair up

Adam Cavallin scored the first hat trick of his career and the Drummondville Voltigeurs dominated the Shawinigan Cataractes 6-2 on Wednesday evening at the Gervais Auto Center.

Cavallin, a 19-year-old invited by the Voltigeurs this year, added an assist in the victory. He has collected seven points in seven games since the start of the season.

Ethan Gauthier joined the offensive festival with a goal and three assists while Simon-Pier Brunet obtained a goal and two assists for the Voltigeurs, who found their way to victory.

Renaud Poulin completed the scoring for the Drummondville squad, who saw Luke Woodworth prepare four goals for his team. Riley Mercer made 32 saves in the victory.

Kody Dupuis, twice, beat Mercer for the Cataractes, who were coming back from a victory against the Victoriaville Tigres.

Félix Hamel started the game for the Shawinigan team and was chased after allowing four goals on 17 shots. In relief, Victor Régis gave up twice in 15 pitches.

Three points for Sharkey

Dawson Sharkey had a goal and two assists to lead the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to an easy 5-1 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads.

Colby Huggan, Mathieu St-Onge and Blake Pligrim-Edwards all had a goal and an assist in a winning cause.

Joshua Fleming gave up only once in 35 shots in front of the Titan cage.

Rain of caps for Henneberry

Joseph Henneberry scored a hat trick and the Cape Breton Eagles beat the Gatineau Matériaux 6-4.

Henneberry was supported offensively by Tomas Lavoie and Jacob Newcombe, who both had four points.

The Eagles signed their first victory this season, after losing their first six games.
