“People don’t understand how talented David Reinbacher is!”

With the young defender’s recent serious knee injury David Reinbacher and the emergence of the attacker Matvei Michkov in Philadelphia, the famous debate over the Montreal Canadiens’ fifth overall pick in the 2023 draft has obviously resurfaced.

Did the team management really make the right choice or did they make a mistake?

Guest during the second episode of POOLCASTthe comedian and expert in young hopefuls Charles Pellerin looked into the question and indicated why even today he would make the same choice if he were a leader of the CH.

According to him, fans don’t understand how talented a defender he is and he himself is perhaps too humble in the way he plays.

I think you see it as too small. He is so talented! Even at the offensive level. What amazes me about him is his ability to play a defensive game, like Kaiden Guhle, strong, efficient, physical, and after that to be able to take off like he does. I think that when he understands a little better with his teammates how it works, the offense will come out. Right now he has a good shot but I think he can get 5% to 10% more.

Reinbacher is so talented. In terms of his development, it is to make him understand that he is exceptional.

The analyst goes even further, affirming that at best, he sees it becoming a Charlie McAvoy Bruins or a Noah Dobson of the Islanders while in the worst scenario, he could become a Jaccob Slavin of the Hurricanes.

Needless to say, in each scenario, the Canadian would be excited to add a defender of this caliber to his defensive brigade for the next ten years.

Now let’s hope he recovers well from his knee injury and returns to 100% capacity when he returns to play in 5 to 6 months.
