two supporters on their honeymoon draw banners against Peter Lim in Singapore… and end up in detention

While traveling in Asia for their honeymoon, two Valencia (Liga) supporters are detained by the Singaporean authorities. The latter accuse them of messages of protest against Peter Lim, the owner of their favorite club.

When the honeymoon turns into a diplomatic incident. Traveling to Asia to celebrate their union, Dani and Mirea have been detained in Singapore since Friday October 4, reports Marca. Local authorities are investigating the display of protest banners against Peter Lim, Singaporean owner of Valencia, the club of choice of the two Spanish tourists.

Several days before their setbacks, Dani Cuesta created a buzz on social networks by publishing several photos where he can be seen holding up a “Lim Go Home” sign in several places in Singapore. The Valencian supporter reached a peak of popularity by taking out his famous sign just in front of Peter Lim’s residence, as one of his followers had suggested to him on residence.

The Spanish authorities have contacted the embassy

It was following this publication that things began to go wrong. While at the Singapore airport to catch a flight to Bali to continue their honeymoon, the couple were arrested. The passports of the two Spaniards were confiscated, before the newlywed couple were taken to a security room to answer questions.

According to Marca, the Singaporean authorities are investigating the facts to determine whether it is a crime and, if so, to determine the consequences. Local authorities in Valencia contacted the Spanish embassy in Singapore to try to defuse the situation.
