Kerry Carpenter hit a three-run homer in the ninth against Emmanuel Clase and the Detroit Tigers won 3-0 at Cleveland on Monday, tying their second-round series against the Guardians 1-1.
Confronted with the star stopper, Carpenter sent the ball 423 feet from the plate, after two outs.
Clase led the American with 47 saves this year. He had not allowed a point since August 30.
