New PSG stadium: the Parisian club denounces “the blatant hypocrisy of the city of

Between PSG and town hall, the standoff continues. Still looking for land to build its future stadium, the capital club did not really appreciate the desire of the City of Paris to take legal action to cancel the reservation of land to accommodate a possible future sports venue. , and force Parisians to stay at the Parc des Princes.

According to information from Le Parisien, in a wish presented to the Paris Council by the deputy mayor in charge of Sports, Pierre Rabadan, it is proposed to authorize the City to take legal action to have the region’s amendment canceled which provides for a reserve of 50 ha to accommodate a possible new PSG stadium. If elected officials vote for it this Thursday, it will allow the battle to continue to force the club to stay at the Parc des Princes. But this time, before administrative justice.

“The city cannot torpedo all alternatives”

Less than a month ago, during the vote on the new Environmental Master Plan (Sdrif-e), the region had validated the “creation of a regional envelope to make possible sports projects of regional interest such as the future stadium of the PSG or the sporting heritage of the hill of Élancourt ()”.

“The Club is moving forward calmly on its new stadium project and is delighted to count on the support of the region,” PSG reminds us this Tuesday while deploring the attitude of the City of Paris. “The sudden panic of the town hall confirms the seriousness of this project. The city of Paris cannot publicly claim to be open to dialogue and torpedo all the alternatives on which the club is working. This reveals the blatant hypocrisy that the town hall has demonstrated since the start of the negotiations,” the club scolds Le Parisien.

Discussions between PSG and Paris town hall are still at a standstill. Despite numerous appeals from Parisian elected officials, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has not changed his position: PSG will not stay at the Parc des Princes if he cannot become its owner. A hypothesis discussed between the two parties for many months but which Anne Hidalgo now refuses to consider.
