Lionel Messi’s beautiful message for Andrés Iniesta

It’s a page that is turning. Andrés Iniesta has officially announced his retirement and the men of the football world are flocking for the former number 8 of Barça. This Tuesday, it was Lionel Messi who sent him a little message on his social networks. “One of the teammates with the most magic and those I enjoyed playing with the most. Andrés Iniesta, football will miss you and so will we! I always wish you the best, you are a phenomenon”wrote the Inter Miami player in an Instagram story, posting a photo with his former teammate at Barça.

The two men shared the bill for 14 years at FC Barcelona (2004-2018) and formed a strong friendship during this period. Together, they notably won 32 trophies with the Blaugranas and shared the Ballon d’Or podium in 2010 (Messi 1st, Iniesta 2nd). With the retirement of Andrés Iniesta, a page is also closing for FC Barcelona which sees one of the last active members of the legendary 2009 team hanging up his boots.
