Classic festival: emotion, spectacle and feminization were there for the 2024 edition

the essential
The 11th edition of the Classic Festival gave rise to a great show last weekend in Nogaro and especially within the Paul-Armagnac circuit.

Everything was there: beautiful old cars, celebrities and the public always impressed by the Classic festival which, for some, takes us back to our automotive past. For others, it’s the discovery of a bygone era but one that we hope will never disappear from our memories!

More than 20,000 people were counted for this show organized by the company Max Mamers Management (3M). There are also unanimously known personalities like Jacques Laffite, Jean Ragnotti, Guy Fréquelin and Christine Beckers, Belgian driver who won the 24 hours of in 1974 (2 liter class).

And the cars you will tell me… these almost prehistoric cars as time speeds up and almost makes us doubt that all of this could ever have existed. Yet there are more than 1000 of them there before our eyes, representing around 120 brands (Alfa-Romeo, Citroën, Shelby Cobra, Alpine, R8 Gordini, Aston Martin, Austin, BBM, BMW, Bugatti, Cater Ham, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Mustang… the list is long, from the most common to the most legendary, unfortunately sometimes disappeared!

This 11th edition also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf 1 and the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang.

On Sunday, the big parade was the center of the day with several hundred cars gathered on the track.

Finally, the Nogaro high school and the CMA Formation were also very strong centers of interest with an event within the framework of gender parity in the automobile sector. Because INSEE points out the imbalance between women and men. Thus out of “87 professional families identified, only 8 have a proportion of balanced women and men and 51 are over-represented by men”.

The prefect mentioned the “All equal” ministerial plan.

A ministerial plan “All equal” was put in place and the departmental stakeholders (prefecture, Departmental Council, Region, management of CEDM and the Paul-Armagnac circuit) took the opportunity of the Classic Festival to advance this cause .
