Algeria Football – Playing in Ligue 1 in France, a player from the Moroccan national team was booed by Toulouse Football Club (TFC) supporters on the last day.
In difficulty this season, Zakaria Aboukhlal, striker for the Morocco team playing in France with Toulouse, is going through a complicated period. During the match against Lyon (1-2) in Ligue 1, played on September 29, the Moroccan international was whistled by some of the Toulouse supporters, showing their disappointment with his performances. Aboukhlal, who had impressed before his knee injury on September 21, 2023, is slow to return to his best level.
Absent from the field for around six months, the striker has not yet returned to the efficiency that marked his start to the season, where he scored three goals in five games. His return last March did not live up to expectations, and his disappointing performances did not reassure the supporters. In the match against Lyon, where he came on as a substitute, Aboukhlal was greeted with boos as he entered the field, a reaction to which he responded with a smile and applause.
However, this bad patch could well be temporary. The Moroccan player has shown in the past that he is capable of getting back up, and his qualities no longer need to be proven. He will nevertheless have to redouble his efforts to regain the confidence of the supporters and regain his place within the Toulouse team.
