The Cataractes find their way to victory

Mathieu Plante, Jordan Tourigny and Vince Elie all three concluded the game with two assists for the Cataractes, who returned to victory.

Félix Hamel gave up twice in 29 shots for the Shawinigan team.

In Chicoutimi, Félix Gagnon had two goals and an assist and the Saguenéens defeated the Drummondville Voltigeurs 6-3 on Sunday evening.

Gagnon scored two of his team’s four goals in the second period and set up Kassim Gaudet’s empty-net goal, which closed the books.

Maxim Massé, Emmanuel Vermette and Jonathan Prud’homme also moved the ropes for the Saguenéens, who have not suffered defeat in regulation time in their last four outings (3-0-1).

Defenseman Alex Huang, a prospect in the upcoming NHL draft, collected two assists in the victory. Raphaël Précourt allowed three goals on 30 shots.

Marc-Olivier Beaudry, Maxime-Olivier Drolet and Hugo Dufour responded for the Voltigeurs, who had won their last two games.

Remparts 5 – Eagles 0

Mathieu Cataford broke the deadlock late in the third period and the Rimouski Océanic defeated the Halifax Mooseheads 4-3.

Cataford, who was playing a first match against his former team, surprised goalkeeper Mathis Rousseau between the pads by going around the net.

Cataford, Pavel Simek and Dominic Pilote all collected two points for the Océanic, who signed a second victory in a row.

Islanders 1 – Wildcats 4

Julius Sumpf scored the eventual game-winner late in the first period and the Moncton Wildcats beat the Charlottetown Islanders 4-1.

Markus Vidicek, Gabe Smith and Vincent Collard all had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats, who recorded their second straight win.

Jacob Steinman stopped 24 pucks in his team’s victory.

Titan 3 – Sea Dogs 2

Dawson Sharkey scored late in the second period and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan held on to win 3-2 over the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs.

Liam Arsenault scored his first career goal in the QMJHL to tie the game. Alexandre Lallier set up two Titan goals in the victory.
