A Frontier Airlines plane appeared to catch fire on Saturday when it landed at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas in the United States.

In the images, first published on the social network X, then obtained by CNN, we can see flames under the aircraft, an A321, as it lands on the runway.

A statement from Frontier and the Federal Aviation Administration explains that Flight 1326, which arrived from San Diego, California, was in the process of landing when smoke was reportedly detected in the cockpit.

The pilots then declared an emergency.

Spokespeople for the Las Vegas airport confirmed to CNN that the plane had a hard landing during which the plane’s tires burst.

Firefighters responded immediately when the plane, which was carrying 190 passengers and seven crew members, landed, according to CNN.

The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m., according to the airline and “an investigation is underway to determine the causes of the incident.”
