“What does this victory mean to you, at the end of a difficult season?
It’s special, I didn’t really believe it anymore. It was a pretty complicated year, I missed all the classics, I went to the Giro where I crashed and had to give up. Then I prepared for the Tour. Fortunately, I had this Olympic medal (3rd) which saved my season a little, and now this victory at Paris-Tours. It was difficult since the Games, the legs were there, but motivation-wise, it was more difficult, with all the ups and downs I had this year.
