First call-up to the national team for Daniel Maldini, son of Paolo, grandson of Cesare

The Monza striker, last in the Italian championship after six days, would become the third Maldini to wear the colors of the ‘Nazionale’ if coach Luciano Spalletti played him, after his father Paolo (56 years old) and his grandfather Cesare Maldini, who died in 2016.

Aged 22, Daniel Maldini stood out in the colors of Monza where he was loaned and then sold last summer by AC Milan, of which his father and grandfather were captains.

Luciano Spalletti also called up three new players: Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, AS Roma midfielder Niccolo Pisilli and AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbiawho scored the winning goal in the derby against Inter (2-1) on September 24.
