The future of Morocco team executive Hakim Ziyech at Galatasaray seems more uncertain than ever. In difficulty since his arrival, the Moroccan international could leave the Turkish club earlier than expected. Growing tensions with coach Okan Buruk and performances deemed insufficient created a tense climate between the two parties.
During the qualifying match for the Champions League against Young Boys, Ziyech, relegated to the bench, showed his dissatisfaction by deleting all his photos related to the club on his social networks. Since this episode, relations between the Atlas Lion and Galatasaray have deteriorated. The player, who is just returning from a right knee injury, has been left out of Buruk’s plans for the Europa League matches, reinforcing the possibility of his departure.
According to Turkish sources, Galatasaray decided not to extend his contract, which provided for an automatic extension of one season if he played 50% of the matches. A separation during the next winter transfer window seems more and more likely. To top it all off, Ziyech was not called up by Walid Regragui for the Morocco team’s upcoming matches, adding to his current difficulties.
