Even though David Hubert is doing an excellent job, Anderlecht is still looking for a new coach. Mark van Bommel is one of the names that comes up again and again.
In Anderlecht, the performances of the team since Brian Riemer have, especially in the European Cup, led to the debate regarding the possibility of confirming David Hubert at the level of that regarding his potential successor.
Immediately, several names were circulated, including that of Mark van Bommelwho seemed to be the main candidate, he who was stationed at Antwerp FC until the end of last season and who won the double a little over a year ago.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Van Bommel actually met with Anderlecht management, but he declined the offer. The two sides were not on the same page.
Everything remains open for other avenues
The Serbian Vladimir Ivic would also have made the trip to Lotto Park but this would only be a preliminary discussion. The 47-year-old coach has been without a club since March. He most recently coached FK Krasnodar and won back-to-back titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
