Two assists (including one dazzling) in his first NCAA game

Despite limited playing time, Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov is doing very well so far in his first season in the KHL as a regular.

On the other hand, there was another first round prospect from CH who was making his debut in his new league, and it was Michael Hage.

Hage began his first season in the NCAA ranks this Friday evening with the excellent University of Michigan Wolverines.

Hage’s team has a very good, experienced and well-balanced club and we expect great things from the club this year.

Let’s say that the Habs prospect wanted to make a good impression in his debut, having collected two assists in the opening match against Minnesota State.

Unfortunately, his club lost by a score of 5-2.

Before I show you Hage’s two successful streaks, where he amassed his first two points in the NCAA, I want to show you this streak.

He demonstrates impressive ease on skates and this will certainly be one of his main assets, if not his main asset, during his career.

Now let’s get down to business.

At the very beginning of the second period, while it was still 0-0, the University of Michigan was playing on the power play and Hage joined his teammate William Whitelaw.

He served a nice cross pass to the latter who scored the first goal of the match on reception.

With this assist on the power play, Hage certainly earned points with his coach.

With just five minutes remaining in the third period, the score was 4-1 in favor of Minnesota State.

And that’s where the Wolverines’ hopes were revived, as Hage collected his second assist of the game.

This pass was simply sublime.

He’s so skilled with the puck, it’s ridiculous.

His skating often stands out, but we cannot deny the fact that he has several other very interesting assets, including his vision and his hands.

He hasn’t shown it yet (it’s only the first game of the season after all), but he also has a very good shot.

His offensive talent is undeniable.

It remains to be seen whether he does well defensively in this new caliber for him, since he is facing players over 20 years old for the first time.

This is a big step for Hage and he should be able to get an increasingly bigger role with the team as the season goes on.

If he ever has an excellent season, the option of seeing him arrive in Montreal at the end of his NCAA season should not be overlooked.

This is also what Simon “Snake” Boisvert believes, he who spoke about it during the last episode of the podcast Process with Mathias Brunet.

Let’s see what he has in store for us this year.
