QMJHL: the Remparts come up short in Halifax

Despite a good effort, the Quebec Remparts had to admit defeat 4 to 2, Friday evening, against the Mooseheads in Halifax.

The crowd favorites took control of this duel in the third period. Shawn Carrier first took advantage of a power play to break a 1-1 tie.

With about five minutes left in regulation, Lou Lévesque gave the Mooseheads a two-goal cushion with his third goal of the season.

The Remparts, however, had not said their last word, since Nathan Quinn reduced the gap in the last minute of play. The celebrations were, however, very brief for the visitors, because Braeden confirmed the victory of his team in a cage left to abandonment in favor of a sixth skater.

Justin Côté (Remparts) and Cade Moser (Mooseheads) scored the first goal for their respective teams during the first third.

Goalie Mathis Rousseau made 24 saves in the victory, while Patrick Deniger stopped 25 pucks in the defeat.

It was a second game in as many evenings for the Red Devils, who had enjoyed victory against the Charlottetown Islanders the day before.

The Remparts will conclude their trip to the Maritimes with a duel against the Cape Breton Eagles on Sunday. This is the last game of five on the road for the Quebec club.
