Stade Rennais was very active this Friday. After firing its former president Olivier Cloarec, the Breton club has already found a replacement. The lucky winner is Arnaud Pouille, who will not have remained unemployed for long.
The former general manager of Lens was made official this Friday late afternoon. “I am very happy and proud to join Stade Rennais FC. I am already 100% committed to the future of this prestigious club and I thank Mr. François-Henri Pinault for his confidence. I am convinced that the Stade Rennais FC has all the assets to assert its sporting ambition in the context of upcoming national and European competitions,” declared the new Rennes president through the club press release.
Notable performances in Lens
General manager of Lens between 2017 and 2024, Arnaud Pouille participated, with Franck Haise, in the virtuous circle of the artesian club. Under the leadership of this duo, the Sang et Or returned to Ligue 1 and even obtained a surprise qualification for the Champions League at the end of a historic 2022-2023 season.
In June 2024, the Lensois announced the departure of Franck Haise and Arnaud Pouille. The first has found a bench near Nice while the second is now at the top of the Rennes organization chart.
