Wingfoil World Cup Dakhla 2024: Spaniard Elena Moreno crowned

The Spaniard Elena Moreno won the title of the 3rd edition of the Wingfoil World Cup “Global Wingsports Association (GWA) 2024” which is being held in Dakhla, after taking the best, Wednesday, over the Dutch Bowien van der Linden.

Moreno won this competition, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, with a score of 15.15 points compared to 13.13 points for van der Linden.
3rd place went to the other Spaniard Nia Suarez with a score of 12.95 points in the classification match during which she defeated the British Francesca Maini (11.92 points).

In a statement to MAP, Elena Moreno praised the good organization of this sporting event, noting that this is the second time she has visited the city of Dakhla.
She added that the competition was tough, and that it was especially necessary to adapt to the different conditions.

For his part, Bowien van der Linden indicated that the height of the waves was perfect for achieving a good result and favored the competition being held in good conditions.
The Dutchwoman said she was very happy to be on the podium of this World Cup, expressing her wish to return to Dakhla to participate again in this sporting event.

Focused on the socio-sporting and tourist development of the region and Morocco, this event which sees the participation of 70 riders from 17 countries, confirms, year after year, its place and its notoriety as an unmissable event for surfing, kitesurfing and wingfoiling.
