Dall’Oglio pays tribute to ASSE supporters

For this first match of October, AS Saint-Étienne will finally be able to count on its Geoffroy-Guichard stadium in full configuration. News which of course delights the coach Olivier Dall’Oglio.

The Saint-Etienne coach also took advantage of Thursday’s session to take Geoffroy-Guichard’s bearings with his players, as he explained during the press briefing: “Go and train at Geoffroy-Guichard, we need it. We can’t do it all the time. We need to get some bearings, the pitch is like caviar, it makes you want it, the players like it. We take cues from set phases, it’s interesting to go there and work on the tactical level.“

Afterwards, Olivier Dall’Oglio evokes the return of the Kop Sud and this first meeting which will be played in a Cauldron in full configuration: “It changes a lot of things, in the atmosphere, in how we approach the match, it doesn’t resonate in the same way, there is a lot more energy. We saw it in the first match, Le Havre, it wasn’t the same. We need all our strengths and that is an essential asset for me. For me it’s more, until now we have supporters who pushed us, I want to pay tribute to them, especially to those who were in Nantes, we were down two to zero and they were still singing. As long as the team gives, they give behind. It’s an undeniable help.”

As a reminder, this Wednesday, nearly 30,000 tickets had already been sold for the match against Auxerre. The club hopes to exceed the 33,000 spectator mark for this match counting for the seventh day of the French Ligue 1 championship.
