The day after a bitter defeat for Stade at home against -Bègles and a few days before facing in the Top 14, the center Pierre-Louis Barassi mentioned his future in Toulouse as well as his pressure management related to the situation.

Pierre-Louis Barassi discusses his end of contract in Toulouse

Intelligent, sharp, elegant. When he is in good shape and playing one match after another, we have to admit that Pierre-Louis Barassi is terribly “Toulouse – compatible” and is even one of the best second centers in the championship.

However, and as the end of his contract approaches (2025), he has not yet been part of the massive wave of extensions on which the Haut-Garonnais leaders have worked in recent months. At least, nothing has been announced yet. On his desire to stay, the former Lyonnais responds without ambiguity.

” Yes of course ! Now we’ll see how it goes. The season is long and today the question is more about giving 100% to the team, doing my best to win matches and aiming for some nice things at the end of the season,” he asserts.

Looking for an extension, without pressure

Let Toulouse supporters rest assured, the hope of seeing the international with 3 selections continue his adventure in the pink city still exists. And this despite the requests from Stade Français at one time and more recently from Clermont as reported RugbyPrime.

In search of a contract extension with the Rouge et Noir, Pierre-Louis Barassi nevertheless does not feel any more stress than that.

“Strangely, I don’t think I have any pressure. I want to have fun, to enjoy every moment I spend on the pitch, whether in training or in a match,” he proclaims.

And perhaps this is simply how the signing of a new lease will take place.
