(5/5) Léopold Cavalière, Basket player: “The Euroleague, one of the goals in my career”

This Friday, October 4 will remain a historic date for Basketball which will begin its adventure in the Euroleague with the reception of Red Star Belgrade. This season, the capital club will be the little thumb of this competition, with a budget around 11 million euros, incomparable with the 35 to 40 million of the biggest Greek or Spanish teams. Which doesn’t stop 28-year-old strong winger Léopold Cavalière from being ambitious. He committed to Paris Basketball this summer, after four seasons in : “What appealed to me about the prospect of playing Paris Basketball was, first of all, the Euroleague. “one of the goals that I had in my career, to participate in this competition which is the premier competition in Europe”

“I have never experienced Parisian life”

“It’s a great pride to be part of this squad. The fact of being in Paris weighed a little in the balance. But the first argument is still sportsmanship but it’s true that life Parisian, I never had the opportunity to experience that and I said to myself that it was a good period in my life to experience that too.”

“In relation to the growth of the club, we looked at it from the outside. Last season, they had a fabulous run in the French championship and the fact that they won the leaders cup and the Eurocup, obviously every year All eyes turned towards the club and we said to ourselves that we would be part of this experience and that’s why I joined the ship too.”

“I have never played in the Adidas Arena. When I came with Strasbourg last year, we played in Bercy! The Adidas Arena is a brand new, state-of-the-art tool. We feel the ” hype” especially on the networks. I hope that we will transcribe it in the Adidas Arena because that remains the most important thing, to have the craziest possible atmosphere during the matches”.
