Lantic. He wins silver at the world roller skating championships

For my first selection, I leave with a silver medal! At 25 years old, the Lantic sportsman Giovanni Trebouta reached the second step of the podium for his first participation in the roller skating world championships, on September 21 in Pescara, in Abruzzo (Italy), in the 5 km points track.

A feat that the municipality had to honor, by inviting Giovanni Trebouta as a preamble to the municipal council on Monday.

Originally from Lantic, Giovanni Trebouta put on his first skates at the age of 4, at the Roller club Sud-Goëlo, which Thierry Michoux then chaired.

He stayed there until the age of 9, before joining Guingamp roller skating. It wasn’t until he was 21 that he took up ice speed racing. If I chose this discipline, it is simply because speed skating is not recognized as an Olympic discipline. explains the Lanticais. And his goal, he admits, is the Winter Olympics…

Due to a lack of suitable infrastructure in , the young athlete lives six months of the year in the Netherlands, where he trains at the Heerenveen ice rink.

This sport requires a lot of investment, both in time and finances. But Giovanni Trebouta is lucky to be supported by his parents, Alain and Yvette. On the financial side, he benefited from a subsidy from the municipality, amounting to €500.
