It’s no secret that goaltender Jeremy Swayman hated his experience with salary arbitration in the summer of 2023, but we now know how much he resented it.
The athlete who is currently experiencing his second contractual dispute with the Bruins was one of the stars of the last episode of FACEOFF: Inside the NHL.

“When you walk into that room, you don’t say a word,” Swayman said. My rep started first and was saying all these great things. The representative on their side, his job is to help management and denigrate the players. Hearing that you’re not worth what you think you’re worth was difficult. You don’t forget what was said.”
The 25-year-old hockey player also said that he had written down each criticism heard during the hearing in a list and that he consulted it regularly during the season.
“The biggest criticism of me was that I wasn’t reliable in the playoffs,” Swayman said.
These comments were made by the goalie during the last playoffs, when the Bruins were playing their second round series against the Florida Panthers.
After Boston’s six-game elimination, Swayman wondered if it was the last time he would wear the jacket of the organization that drafted him in the fourth round of the Boston Amateur Auction. 2017.
“I don’t want it to end,” he said on the show. This might be the last time I wear a Bruins jersey. I know I’m going to do everything in my power to be a Bruin for a long time. Growing up in Alaska, it was beyond my wildest dreams. I never want it to end. I’m just so grateful that the sun is going to come up tomorrow and there’s going to be another opportunity to get better.”
Bet Swayman’s opinion has changed a lot since those claims. The masked man is currently at the heart of a long and very public contractual dispute. The restricted free agent still has no agreement and the 2024-2025 season will begin in less than a week.
