Serie A: How the blunder of an Italian elected official pushed Morata to move

Alvaro Morata, star recruit of AC Milan, thought he had found the ideal place to settle down with his family, but the mayor of the chosen town spilled the beans on social networks and the Spaniard, angry, made reverse Thursday. “I am a great Inter fan, but it is with great pleasure that I welcome Alvaro Morata to our big Corbetta family“, wrote on his Instagram account Marco Ballarini, the mayor of the town of 17,000 inhabitants west of Milan.

Morata’s reaction was not long in coming, still on social networks: “Dear Mayor, thank you for violating my privacy (…) I was hoping that Corbetta would have guaranteed me some privacy, but I find myself having to immediately change homes because of your inability to use social media and protect your fellow citizens“, replied the captain of the Spanish 2024 European champions.

The duel on social networks continued with a final message from the mayor of Corbetta: “Bye bye“, he wrote with the coat of arms and colors of Inter, reigning champion and great rival of AC Milan, in the background. Since his return this summer to Italy where he has already played in the jersey of Juventus Turin (2014-16 and 2020-22), Morata has already greatly animated the celebrity pages with his separation from the mother of his four children, the Italian influencer Alice Campello.

On the pitch, the striker has scored two goals in four league matches, but still does not have starting status in the eyes of his coach Paulo Fonseca.
