492 days after his serious horse riding accident which plunged him into a coma, former PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico returned to the field. He started Tuesday evening with Al-Gharafa, two days after signing up with the Qatari club, for the Asian Champions League match against Al-Ain.
The Spanish goalkeeper was the victim of a fall from a horse on May 28, 2023, where he suffered a head injury. He was only released from the hospital in August, after 26 days in a coma, raising fears for the worst for his life. He was not retained by PSG at the end of his contract, in June 2024.
