The kickboxing world championships in Uzbekistan saw Senegalese Mouhamed Tafsir Ba win the heavy category title (91 kg) this Saturday, September 28, 2024.
In addition to Tafsir Ba, who is known to have no opponent in his category in boxing in Senegal, his compatriot Ndeye Khady Diallo won the silver medal by becoming world vice-champion for the second consecutive time in the 60 kg category.
The champions were congratulated by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who had encouraged the Senegalese shooters on X: “Congratulations to our Lions who shone during the World Kickboxing Championships in Uzbekistan! Mouhamed Tafsir Ba, heavyweight world champion (-91 kg), Ndeye Khady Diallo, world vice-champion for the second consecutive time in light weight (-60 kg). Congratulations also to the Senegal national under-20 team which won the UFOA/A 2024 tournament.
