Genève-Servette finally wins, 4-0 victory against HC Bienne

And a fourth defeat in a row for Friborg in the National League. The Dragons lost 5-2 in Kloten, while Lausanne needed extra time to beat Bern 3-2.

Are the Dragons burning down their own house? In any case after five days, Pat Emond’s men only have one victory, against Ajoie at home on the first evening.

Since then, four losses and the feeling that Friborg cannot find the key by sometimes playing better than its opponent. If we had to highlight a situation that sums up the concerns of the people of Fribourg, it would be Killian Mottet. The scoring winger, placed first with Sörensen and Wallmark, was sent to another line in favor of Nathan Marchon. But the staff finally went back and placed Grolleysan with the Swedes.

Except that after thirty minutes of play in the Zurich suburbs, the score was 4-0 in favor of Aviators who indeed seem to have wings at the start of the year. After trapping Lausanne, the Zurich residents did the same with Gottéron. And Miro Aaltonen continued his festival with two new goals.

It is of course not yet time to ask for the head of the coach, but Friborg will have to quickly recover. And without overwhelming Bryan Rüegger, it is obvious that the Dragons cannot do without Reto Berra, even if the national team goalkeeper has not delivered exceptional matches so far.

LHC: rather a point lost

After two defeats, the Vaudois had to find some color. What’s more, at home. The Lions had to settle for two points instead of three due to a double minor penalty from Oksanen at the end of the match which allowed Merelä to equalize (2-2).

As is often the case, the LHC dominated its opponent in terms of shots. The Vaudois led 28-11 after 40 minutes. But the score was only 2-1 in favor of Geoff Ward’s players thanks to a double from Riat. During the five minutes of additional play, the LHC did not miss the opportunity with a well-controlled 4-on-3 power play. Rochette found Kuokkanen in the 63rd for a violent shot which left Reideborn no chance. The Vaudois will now travel to their nemesis Rapperswil on Saturday. The Lions have only won one of their last twelve duels against the Saint-Gallois.

Ajoie: beaten 5 out of 5

Bienne brought home a point from its trip to Ambri. The Zealanders lost 2-1 after. It was Toni Rajala, the in-form man from Bienne, who scored his team’s goal. The Finn has four goals this season. The Bernese were especially able to count on the return of their captain Gaëtan Haas. But with Sallinen and Cunti in the infirmary, Luca Christen still had to play in the center.

Ajoie suffered a fifth consecutive loss. Unsurprisingly, the Jurassiens were dominated by Zug 3-1 in Porrentruy. Note that Christian Wohlwend sent Noah Patenaude in front of the net and that there were only five foreigners due to the absence of Jonathan Hazen.

In the last match of the evening, Zurich beat Langnau 1-0. This is the fifth victory in as many matches for the reigning Swiss champion.
