LHMJQ: Doubles for Maddox Dagenais and Maxim Massé, a net for Matvei Gridin

The first pick in the QMJHL draft, Maddox Dagenais, scored two goals in the Quebec Remparts’ 5-4 defeat against the Sherbrooke Phoenix. Dagenais has now scored two points in each of his first three career games.

Charles-Antoine Beauregard ended the debate at 00:33 in overtime to give Sherbrooke the victory.

The Remparts began a streak of five consecutive matches abroad. They will face the Victoriaville Tigres on Sunday.

Emmanuel Vermette scored a hat-trick and the Saguenéens dominated the Cataractes, 7-3. The third round pick of the Nashville Predators, Maxim Massé, was the author of a double in his team’s overwhelming victory. Émile Duquet also scored two goals for the Sags.

For the Cataractes, the first round pick of the Calgary Flames, Matvei Gridin, rocked the ropes for the first time this season. The Cataractes had negotiated with the Val-d’Or Foreurs to obtain the rights to the young player.

Halfiax 5 – Cap-Breton 2

Jack Martin provided a goal and three points as the Halifax Mooseheads remained undefeated in three games this season on Friday, winning 5-2 at the expense of the Cape Breton Eagles.

The Eagles scored twice in 34 seconds in the first period but Cade Moser, Lou Lévesque and Antoine changed the game with their second goals of the campaign.

Two wrist shots from the faceoff circles hit the mark before Fontaine deflected a shot from Liam Kilfoil early in the middle period.

Shawn Carrier doubled the cushion and Martin added his first goal of the season.

The Mooseheads also won their previous match 5-2.

They will play again on Sunday in Moncton.

Rouyn-Noranda 6 Victoriaville 7

Justin Larose provided two goals and the Tigers had the last word against the Huskies, 7-6.

Victoriaville led 6-3 after 3:34 in the third period.

Gabriel D’Aigle made 40 saves for the winners.

He was foiled twice by Lars Steiner. The 16-year-old Swiss leads the league with five goals this season.

Saint John 6 Charlottetown 2

Tyler Peddle scored a hat trick and the Sea Dogs outscored the Islanders, 6-2.

Nate Tivey had a goal and three assists.

Drummondville 3 Gatineau 4 (F)

William Labranche and Justin Boisselle converted their opportunities into a shootout, guiding the Londres to a 4-3 victory over the Voltigeurs.
