Senegal defends its title in the final against Sierra Leone

Senegal faces Sierra Leone this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. GMT in the final of the Union of West African Federations (UFOA/A) Tournament at the Samuel Kenyan Doe Stadium Complex in Monrovia.

Having validated the qualifying ticket for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in this category scheduled for 2025, Senegalese and Sierra Leoneans will have to fight to win the regional tournament.

The Senegal U20s will have the opportunity to defend their title won in 2022. Senegal, with one match less because Group B was reduced to 3 teams following the withdrawal of Mauritania, presents solid statistics: 2 victories over the score of 2-0 against Mali and Guinea and 1 draw against Gambia (2-2), 6 goals scored and 2 conceded.

Like Senegal, Sierra Leone is undefeated in this tournament. Leader of Group B ahead of Guinea, Liberia (host country) and Guinea Bissau, the Leone Stars dominated Gambia in the semi-final (3-0). They have won all their matches since the draw (0-0) on the first day against Guinea.

With 3 victories against Liberia (3-1), Guinea Bissau (1-0) and therefore Gambia (3-0). In total, the Leone Stars scored 7 goals against only 1 conceded. Their captain Momo Camara, twice “man of the match”, is the current top scorer in this tournament with 3 goals.

With impressive statistics from both teams, fans can look forward to an exciting final this Saturday.

Guinea and Gambia will face off for third place in the tournament at 1:00 p.m. GMT that same day.
